Benefits of a Bigcommerce to HubSpot Integration

Bigcommerce is one of the many ecommerce solutions out there that makes it easy (or at least easier) to get your products out there and ready to be sold online. With Bigcommerce you get an easy-to-use, clean interface for adding your products, managing orders and customers and a plethora of other great features.
One area where it lacks is being able to convert customers into repeat customers with automated marketing strategies. Marketing automation is an integral part of building a successful business online, and when you're first starting out with Bigcommerce you need to utilize all the tools that you can to promote your brand.
In case you've been living under a rock for a while, HubSpot is king of inbound marketing and has powerful marketing automation tools. However, to get the most out of your HubSpot and Bigcommerce portals, you'll want to consider having their technologies integrated.
Here are the top reasons why you should want a Bigcommerce to HubSpot integration.
You Can Convert Shoppers Into Customers
Many Bigcommerce and HubSpot users use the HubSpot tracking code to track visitors to their Bigcommerce store. This is great because it supplies them with data on exactly what pages their visitors have viewed, but unfortunately it doesn't supply them with closed-loop reporting. Or in layman's terms, the data on who and how many turned into actual customers.
Knowing who closed as customers, how many, and why they closed is important for online marketers because it allows them to make more informed, accurate decisions. With that data they are able to decipher from what is working, what could be tweaked, and what is not working at all.
We have good news, though! We recognized this need and have built a custom HubSpot Bigcommerce integration, that allows you to track what visitors turned into customers right within your HubSpot portal.
In technical terms, this custom javascript file attaches the user's HubSpot User Token to the notes field of their order when they checkout, which attaches that token to the order in the Bigcommerce system.
This is the first and most important thing an integration with Bigcommerce needs to accomplish: reporting on who remains just a visitor and who is an actual customer.
You Can Track Customer's Orders
But that's not the end of our good news. Wouldn't it be nice if instead of just converting them in your HubSpot portal, you could actually track what your customer is buying?
Well thanks to the robust Bigcommerce API, we have all the capabilities we need to grab those orders from Bigcommerce and show them inside of HubSpot. Now, not only are we converting the shoppers into customers within your HubSpot portal, we can also attach valuable pieces of information about that customer.
For example, we can track how much they spent on their most recent order, which products they have purchased, the total lifetime value of that customer (for repeat shoppers) and more!
This kind of valuable data being attached to your customer records in HubSpot leads us into the next subject.
You Can Build Better Marketing Automation
Now that you have all of this data about your customers and what they are buying, you can build amazing marketing automation inside of your HubSpot portal.
Assuming you're tracking what products a customer is buying, you can now build email campaigns to send out product alerts to customers who have purchased similar products! Or maybe you want to offer a special discount to all of your customers who have spent more than $500 at your store.
Using the data that your new Bigcommerce integration provides will allow you to truly maximize your marketing automation and list segmentation potential inside of HubSpot. You can also easily track just how well your products are performing, what type of customers are finding them the most useful, and what traffic sources contributed more than others to certain products.
There's an App For that
Recently Bigcommerce has upgraded their API system and dashboard to include an app store. As part of their launch, we were able to upgrade our Bigcommerce application to use the new system and it is now available in the Bigcommerce marketplace.
The application, which is called HubSpot Order Tracking, does complete order tracking and provides you with a dashboard inside of your store to view the status of your integration. When you install the application you get a free month trial period to evaluate how well it can perform for you.
And if you're new to HubSpot, this is a great way to get started. When you signup for the application, you will be given the option to sign up for a free 30-day trial of HubSpot, as well.
There's never been a better time to integrate your Bigcommerce store, and if you need an integration above and beyond what the HubSpot Order Tracking application can provide, we can build something that better fits your needs.
