CMS Hub Professional: Updates to Your HubSpot CMS Experience
04/10/2020 • 3 min read • Written by Lynton
HubSpot is known for its intuitive and easy-to-use solutions like Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, and Service Hub – we know, a lot of “Hubs.”
Well, there’s one more to add to their growing list of marketing and sales technology: CMS Hub.
CMS Hub builds upon their current CMS functions with new features and packages them into one system to simplify website creation and maintenance. CMS Hub comes in two tiers – Professional and Enterprise – and offers an easy and secure, side-wide editing experience for employees of any department. You don’t need to be a current HubSpot user to begin using the new CMS, either!
In this upcoming blog series, we’ll carefully examine the system, offer ideas, and provide tips and tricks to get the most out of both CMS Hub Professional and Enterprise. For now, here’s a look at the Professional tier and two features that will significantly impact your marketing and development teams.
Quick Overview of CMS Hub
As noted, CMS Hub is HubSpot’s newly branded CMS experience that’s geared at removing technical limitations to creating websites. The same functionality you’ve enjoyed in Marketing Hub, like dynamic content, themes, SEO recommendations, and more, is still there but with additional features. The updates intend to help companies focus more on optimizing their target audience’s experience, which, in turn, will foster business growth.
Our Two Favorite New Features
Drag and drop editor
Have you ever wanted to make a quick site edit but ran into a roadblock by having to ask for help from your development team? With CMS Hub’s drag and drop editor, that’s a problem of the past. Marketers – and indeed anyone – can update and publish pages without needing to know a line of code. The editor lets you change everything from the design scheme and colors, page layout, and content. Its interactive interface organizes web pages into columns, sections, and rows, so you can either edit entire sections at once or make a simple edit to a single module.
Flexible themes
CMS Hub’s website themes enable developers to create a cohesive site-wide experience that they can hand over to marketers to edit and maintain. These flexible themes can apply to design elements like background colors, fonts, and style on one page, or across your entire site. If you’ve selected a universal experience, what happens to one page happens to them all, meaning you’ll never have to worry about inconsistent design, logo sizes, or mismatched pages ever again. Other assets that you can edit using themes to ensure consistency include templates, modules, and global content.
On top of these two new features, CMS Hub also comes:
- Built-in CRM and conversation tools
- Multi-language content creation
- Contact attribution report builder
- 24/7 security monitoring
How Does it Help Marketers and Developers?
Both marketers and developers benefit from CMS Hub in different ways. For marketers, the new offering lets them create and manage optimized sites explicitly targeted for their online visitors. Their teams can now edit without knowledge of codeor having to wait for a developer to have spare time. Essentially, they can rely on their development team as much or as little as they want, which gives them more control in site production.
For developers, building webpages is even quicker and easier with flexible themes and content structure, and CMS Hub lets them code however they want. When they’re done, they can pass it off to their marketing teams and not have to worry about making last-minute changes or on-the-fly edits.
What if I Need More?
Anyone who needs more CMS power should opt for HubSpot’s Enterprise tier. CMS Hub Enterprise includes the same features but with the added ability to control access on specific website features, use serverless functions, manage multiple domains at once, and build web applications. Larger organizations will also benefit from its more advanced security features.
What Else?
CMS Hub Professional and Enterprise are still in the early stages of their development, so we expect to see more updates in the future. But for now, this new content management system provides a great way to power and grow your website – with marketers having more control than ever.
